FIL 4472C – Cinematography II

Overview

As a student enrolled in FIL 4472C – Cinematography II, you have multiple levels of resources available to use. In addition to specific equipment designated for use in this course, students enrolled in Cinematography II maintain access to general assignment media equipment and media labs outlined in the Undergraduate Resources article.

Policy Requirements

Students are required to complete the Film Student Policy Form before they can checkout equipment or use facility spaces. This form has to completed once each semester to cover all courses.

Individual Media Assignment

Assignment Window

FIL 4472C – Cinematography II has assignment windows. Enrolled students will be emailed notification when each assignment window has opened.

Equipment checkout begins when faculty informs operations of a media assignment window. Operations then emails enrolled students to notify them that equipment checkout is now open for that assignment.

Group Projects

Assignment Window

Specific production equipment is available for scheduled group projects in this course. Group projects are media assignments that are scheduled in advance via the Mid-Service checkout process. Students will be assigned a group project slot by their instructor-of-record along with a checkout out date and time.

Equipment Checkout Requirements

Students are required to have a minimum of two group members present during equipment checkout: the Captain and Co-Captain. While all group members are encouraged to attend, only the Captain and Co-Captain are required.

Checkout appointments are scheduled for 1 hour and 30 minutes to allow adequate time for equipment identification, testing for functionality, and any necessary questions students have for the staff.

Equipment Check-In Requirements

A minimum of two group members must be present to return equipment during the check-in appointment.

Check-in appointments are scheduled for 1 hour, although most groups complete the process in approximately 15 minutes. Additional time is allotted to accommodate inventory verification and to address any missing or damaged equipment, if necessary.
