Film, BA , BFA, and MFA Students

Active students can access the Film and Mass Media Labs using their issued UCF ID card.

Non-Majors & Film, BA Pending Students

There are three university computer labs available for all UCF students to use. They are located on the UCF main campus within Technology Commons I, Technology Commons II, and Classroom Building I. These labs are equipped with Mac and PC workstations that are deployed with Adobe Creative Cloud, MS Office, and lots of other useful software.

They also provide collaboration spaces and printing services.

Media Equipment

If you are enrolled in a course that has supported media assignments or sanctioned creative projects, the resources available to you are posted in the instructional resrouce articles for each course. Typically, production equipment and facility support begins with skills courses and increases as you advanced to select production and/or studio courses.

The Film and Mass Media Program does not lend production equipment out to student for projects that are not prompted by and overseen by the instructor-of-record of a course, study, or thesis.

Students who would like to use media equipment for an assignment that is not promopted in a supported course, can utilize the resources that are made available to all students at UCF listed below:

  • LibTech Desk at UCF Library – Provides free technology lending services to all students. This includes DSLR cameras, lenses, camcorders, microphones, laptops, iPads, and other miscellaneous A/V equipment. This office is located on the third floor of the John C. Hitt Library.
  • Student Support Desk – Located in both Technology Commons II and Classroom Building I, the Student Support Desk offers free technology lending services. Students are able to checkout a variety of technology options including Apple Macbooks, Dell laptops, iPads, Microsoft Surfaces, GoPros, Centiq tablets, and cable adapters.

Production Support

Film Equipment Room – If you are enrolled in a course that has supported media assignments or sanctioned creative projects, the resources available to you will be communicated in those courses. Typically, instructional resources and facility support begins with skills courses and increases as you advanced to production and/or studio courses. The Film and Mass Media Program does not lend production equipment out to students for personal projects that are not prompted by an instructor-of-record as part of an enrolled course, study, or thesis.
