Football Gamedays

Overview

On Gameday for UCF Football home games, main campus closes early to make way for pregame activities which are attended by the general public. This means buildings are cleareed and locked by university police. Additionally, many parking garages and lots are repurposed for the event and fan tail gaiting.

Facility Access

Film and Mass Media students are still permitted to enter the Nicholson School of Communication and Media (NSCM) building to use labs and post-production facilities during football gamedays.

Once the building has been secured; Film and Mass Media students must use their UCF ID to access the NSCM building using keycard readers located at each entry door.

Students must not facilitate the entry to the building to any unknown individuals. Additionally, propping doors open to defeat the security of the building will result in a losss of facility acess.

Guests

All guests must be escorted into secured buildings by a UCF student, faculty, or staff member.

Building Security

Students should always carry their UCF ID card on them during a UCF Gameday. If stopped and questioned by police, students should identify themselves as NSCM students and explain that their course-related activities have been designated as “official university business” by the Vice President of Communications and Marketing at UCF.

However, if directed to leave the building by a police officer, students should do so immediately and without argument. They should then notify their instructor-of-record regarding the denial of use.

Projects on Gameday

Casting & Rehearsals

Auditions and callbacks are not permitted on UCF Gamedays. Rehearsals are permitted, but students must escort their guests into the building and make sure the entry that is used is secured.

They are not permitted to prop exterior doors open for any reason.

Physical Production

Students are not permitted to conduct the physical production of coursework or creative projects inside of any UCF building that is closed for gameday unless they have received formal approval from the Coordinator of Film Production Services to do so.
