Handling & Storage

It is important that all recordings that contain intimate scenes involving the depiction of any form of Nudity, Solo Intimate Acts, Simulated Sex Acts, or Simulated Sexualized Violence are handled and stored in a professional manner. That means no distribution or viewing of intimate media recordings by unnecessary personal is permitted.

All negatives, prints, tapes, or media storage devices shall only be accessible and handled by necessary crew. All primary storage and secondary backup devices shall be kept secure to avoid unapproved access to sensitive media.

Obligation to Destroy

The Producer must ensure that all recordings of scenes involving depiction of any form of Nudity, Solo Intimate Acts, Simulated Sex Acts, or Simulated Sexualized Violence; that are not used in the final cut, are destroyed.

To the best of their ability, the Producer must also ensure that recordings held for alternative versions of the film, or other agreed upon purposes, shall be destroyed when no longer required or within five years of production whichever is sooner.

All digital media storage devices must have sensitive media files of Intimate Scenes securely erased once they are no longer in use for that production.

Final Cut

Producers must provide performers with an option to review and approve what intimate content is used in the production’s final cut of Intimate Scenes. If they are uncomfortable with how they are photographed or portrayed, performers reserve the right to have intimate content removed prior to any private test screening or public exhibitions.
