Weapons on Campus

Authorization of Use

UCF Policy 3-119.3 does not permit weapons on campus.

The use of a prop weapon outside of a designated production studio or sound stage is not permitted on UCF campuses.

The utilization of a prop weapon in a designated studio or sound stage requires the approval of the Risk Management Panel and must be supervised by staff.

Prop weapons must be transported in a discreet container when not in use in a designated studio or sound stage.

Notify Watch Commander

The UCF Police Department must be notified of any prop weapons being brought onto campus.

Notification must be sent at least two business days prior to the date of production.

The watch commander must be provided with a chain-of-custody that outlines how it will arrive and when it will depart campus. They must also be sent an image of what the prop weapon looks like, a description of the container it will be transported in, the name of who is handling it, and the location of where it will be stored on set.

Please include the Coordinator of Film Production Services on all communications.
